As
a child, Michelle spent a lot of time in the kitchen whipping up cinnamon
rolls from scratch and voraciously studying cookbooks. After years of
working in administrative capacities, the opinionated home cook and
Southern California native made her way to Shanghai, China for a 15-month
expatriate stint, where she found her calling reviewing restaurants
for the English-language monthly "That's Shanghai"' as well
as handling public relations for Hong Kong-owned restaurants Park 97
and Lava.
Upon returning to the States in 2000, Michelle worked in marketing and
public relations in the nutritional supplement industry. Since 2003,
after making a career change to journalism, Michelle has acted as a
restaurant and food writer for "The Signal", "Santa Clarita
Valley This Week", and "Santa Clarita Valley Living Magazine".
She co-hosts and created the cable show "Food 411 with Michelle
and Fiona". Additionally, Michelle owns and operates In So Many
Words, a public relations/creative company.
Inspiration often comes from the antics of her four furry children,
Jake, Willy, Sam and Buster, with whom she lives with in scenic Pine
Mountain Club. Michelle's current signature dishes include roast chicken,
penne pasta with sausage in tomato cream sauce, and homemade brownies.
Her dogs prefer her beef stew.

Growing
up in lush Washington state, Michelle developed a skill for gardening
and a highly refined palate at a young age. As an adult, she studied design
and became a graphic artist before starting her own drive-thru coffee
business, Wolf Espresso.
After four years, Michelle went back to graphic design, becoming a sought-after
art director for a myriad of companies, including American International,
Designing Health, and Santa Clarita Valley Publications (where she won
numerous design awards).
Michelle currently runs her own design company, Angelo Graphics, and acts
as set designer, camerawoman, and all-around wunderkind on "Food
411 with Michelle and Fiona".
She and husband Randy are familiar faces on the local dining scene,
always on the lookout for that perfect martini or meal, when they're
not out in their beautiful Val Verde garden with Setters Cherokee and Cheyenne.
Michelle is also highly regarded in certain circles for her kick-ass gumbo
and homemade granola.
She still only eats clams flown in from Seattle. |
